New Story Published Aug. 2020: Heirloom
Authors Note: Just as there had been in days-of-old, holy empires and august kingdoms of bronze, silver and gold, and further still in the mists of time, jeweled cities and paradisaical gardens, there exists in the USA (aka Turtle Island) a power, a mighty power, which rules the land and the people that live upon it. Such powers are always steered by symbols, be they Roses, Eagles, Kings, and Presidents. And on Turtle Island it is no different. Three great symbols play the cords of that land’s destiny, they are the Conqueror, the Banker and the Scientist.
Like all living things, symbols can grow old, they can make choices, they can be helpful and kind, or they can be mean, bitter and perverted. Some symbols by their very nature are destined to be cruel while others are beneficent. The vast majority, however, lay somewhere in between on a spectrum. This tale deals with extremes; as all fairytales do. Where the pitch between light and dark is most pronounced.
